I was considering using unsolicited but targetted emailing as a way of reaching the self employed in my area who are the target market for the disability insurance I sell but I am hesitating because I fear that many of these prospects will send angry reponses to me accusing me of spamming them. I fear that I will get in trouble with my ISP as a result. I would like to target construction and home builder association people as well as the simple blue collar self-employed tradesman. I would feel better if the emails were part of an opt in list but the're not. I understand the principle of an "opting out" link and maybe explaining what is true span in a note as part of ending of the email. Since this is an intangible but a "want" versus what life insurance would be namely a "need". Could you give me some of your experiences in selling insurance if you have used unsolicited but targetted email?
