I recently got the shock of my life when I met someone who has one of my books.
Now, there’s nothing unusual here: It’s become virtually impossible for me to go to any networking event, seminar, Rotary club, or similar function without meeting at least a few people who are on my email list, along with 1-2 people who have the Never Cold Call Again system or another book.
But this time, it was different...
The person who came up to me was in his late 20s by my best guess. He bought one of my books back in 2007, and using the information he learned, he started a coaching business for small business owners and is now earning around $50,000/month!
WOW. Was all I could say about that.
And I did look him up later on, and sure enough, it’s all true. He’s a top business coach and he was able to do it all with the information he learned in one book.
Why is this important?
Because at the time I wrote it, even I didn’t think it was possible to make that much!
But he did.
Why?
I’ll answer that question with another question:
Are You Thinking BIG Enough?
I knew I’d always wanted to be financially free, but before a pivotal moment in my life came about - I’ll tell you what that was in a minute - I was on the usual plan of figuring out how much I could save each month so I’d eventually not have to work sometime in my 50s, if things went well.
Then I was reading the book Retire Young, Retire Rich in Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dadseries of books, and one of the chapter titles shook me to the core:
"How Fast Is Your Plan?"
I read it, then bought and listened to the audiobook over and over, and the idea of FAST vs. slow really started to sink in. It wasn’t long after that that I started NeverColdCall.com, and then things began moving really fast!
So I have to ask you: How fast is YOUR plan?
The 20-something year old guy who is making $50,000 a month working for himself clearly thought big, but he also "thought fast."
Mathematicians would refer to this as exponential vs. linear.
Linear thinking leads people to figure out how much they could save each month to get to a specific goal, while exponential thinking leads people to figure out how they can reach that goal right now.
When people claim that cold calling works, they’re completely missing out on the possibilities of making things happen exponentially.
Sure, they could sell more by cold calling more, but cold calling takes time. More time to get more sales is a linear strategy.
On the other hand, implementing autopilot systems that generate leads automatically, in the background - even when you sleep - is exponential. Especially since multiple lead generation systems running simultaneously will generate infinitely higher amounts of qualified leads than the world’s best cold caller could achieve working 18-hour days.
So ask yourself: Are you happy with the results by leading a linear life?
Or are you ready to multiply and explode your results with an exponential strategy?
